Fall River - Edward M. Medeiros, 95, of Fall River, died Saturday, April 2nd at the Catholic Memorial Home. He was the husband of the late Ermelinda "Emily" (Serodio) Medeiros.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Francisco and Rosa (Pimentel) Medeiros; he was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Mr. Medeiros served his country during WW II in "Patton's Army" in the invasion of Germany. He was a member of the Italian Progressive Club, Don Carlos Social Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing the accordion.
Mr. Medeiros worked as a truck driver for Colonial Wholesale Beverage Co. He previously worked for the former Firestone Rubber & Latex Co.
He is survived by a son, Edward D. Medeiros of Fall River; a daughter-in-law, Margaret A. "Peggy" Medeiros; two grandchildren, Deborah Medeiros-Monteiro and Dean E. Medeiros; two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Xavier; and three great-great-grandchildren, Carmine, Angelo and Audrey.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Chapel in the Catholic Memorial Home. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation morning of funeral prior to mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA 02720.
