Dorothy (Governo) Turner

TIVERTON… Dorothy (Governo) Turner, age 92, of Tiverton passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

She was the loving wife of the late Charles “Ted” Turner, to whom she had been married to since 1946.

She was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Motta) Governo, and had lived in Tiverton for most of her life.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Turner was employed as a Grocery Store Cashier. She was a member of the Tiverton Senior Center and enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and watching the Hallmark Movie Chanel.

She is survived by her children: Billie Turner and Patricia A. Ferreira, both of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren: Kristina Carvalho, Tracie Booras, Jason Turner, and James Ferreira; her great-grandchildren: Tabitha, Ashley, Matthew, Mollie, and Sarah.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Madeline’s Church, Tiverton. Interment will be in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 9 – 10:30 AM, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA.
