Doris D. (Belanger) DaPonte, 86, of Montfern Avenue, Revere, MA, formerly of Mitchell Drive and County Street, Fall River, died Saturday at Don Orione Nursing Home, Boston. She was the wife of the late Antone DaPonte.
Born in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Adelaide and Rose (Gendron) Belanger; she resided most of her life in Fall River.
Mrs. Da Ponte had worked as a stitcher in the local garment industry for many years, until her retirement in 1988.
She is survived by 3 sons, Michael J. DaPonte (Wife Angela) of Revere, MA, Donald R. DaPonte of California and James P. DaPonte of Fall River, MA; 4 sisters, Theresa Cordeiro of Somerset, MA, Emelia Comeau of Tiverton, RI, Pauline Fissa of Naples, FL and Jackie Duperre of Fall River, MA; a brother, Joseph Gaudreau of Revere, MA; 3 Grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lorraine Richard and Donald "Pete" Belanger.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4 - 8 p.m.
