Dolores "Del" (Raposa) Arruda

TIVERTON… Dolores “Del” (Raposa) Arruda, of Tiverton, passed away July 11, 2022 at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay, in Tiverton, surrounded by her children.

She was the widow of the late Joseph P. Arruda.

Born in Tiverton, she was a daughter of the late John Raposa and Mary (Mottas) Raposa.

Before her retirement, Del was employed as the secretary for the Tiverton Building and Planning Board, and prior as a travel agent for Universal Travel and Tours. She was a parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children: Steven M. Arruda (Jacqueline) and Cheryl A. Cayer (Brian Brietzke), both of Tiverton; her grandchildren: Jessica Silvia, Erica Arruda, Brett Arruda, Jeffrey Cayer, and Jillian Cayer; her great-grandchildren: Elena Silvia, Ava Silvia, Nora Silvia, Van DeSouza, Levi DeSouza, Rider Arruda, and Charlie Arruda; her sister Eileen Leggett, of Midland, TX; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, from 8 – 9:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St Chapel, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, MA 02724 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Stafford Rd, Tiverton, at 10 AM. Interment will be in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
