Dolores (Almeida) Costa

SOUTH JORDAN, UT… Dolores (Almeida) Costa, 91, of South Jordan, UT, formerly of Fall River, passed away August 20, 2021 at home, with her daughter by her side.

She was the loving wife of the late David A. Costa to whom she had been married for 45 years.

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Alexander Almeida and Philomenia (Medeiros) Viveiros.) She had lived most of her life in Fall River before moving to CA in 2014 and Utah in 2018.

Mrs. Costa was a communicant of Good Shepherd Parish. She spent over a decade working for the former S & H Green Stamps as the Store Manager until 1987 when she went on to work at various other retail stores and as a bus driver until officially retiring from work life in 1995. As a career woman, she made many friends throughout her life and truly enjoyed working with the public, but nothing compared to the love and enjoyment she felt when spending time with her beloved husband and family. She and David were inseparable.

Survivors include her daughter: Cynthia M. Costa of Utah; her grandchildren: David Adrian Costa of Vermont and Kristen Costa of Somerset; her great grandson: Gray David Quintal; her sister, Irene Medeiros of Tiverton and her brother, Rudolph Almeida of Florida; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late David A. Costa of Somerset and sister of the late Gilbert Almeida, Joseph Almeida, Alexander Almeida, Ida Borges, Hilda Rebello and Alice Correia.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 8:00 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Good Shepherd Church, South Main St., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 – 7 PM.
