Deolinda Cordeiro

Deolinda "Dolly" (Rodrigues) Cordeiro, 90, of 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, died Wednesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leonel S. Cordeiro.

Born in Swansea, MA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Henrietta (Amaral) Rodrigues; she lived most of her life in Fall River. Mrs. Cordeiro was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Norma Gossic of Westport, MA and Margaret Furtado of Fall River; a son, Peter Cordeiro of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; several great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Leo E. Cordeiro and Beverly Hiller. She was the sister of the late Manuel Rodrigues (Her twin), Augustine Rodrigues, Antone Rodrigues, Mary Tavares and Georgiana Morgado.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in Holy Trinity Parish. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
