Delores "Del" (Fonseca) Carvalho, 74, of Westport, died Monday at Kimwell Nursing Home. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Tavares) Fonseca.
Delores was a B.M.C. Durfee High School graduate class of 1955.
She was employed at the former BMC Durfee Bank, now Bank of America as a teller right out of high school and later as an executive secretary for many years retiring in 1995.
She is survived by 2 god-daughters, Janice L. Mello and Cheryl Carvalho, her loving aunt Evelyn St. Germain, an uncle, Edward Tavares, a companion, Edwin Fernandes, beloved cousins, Debra Lord, Norman St. Germain, Donna Tavares, Kenny Tavares and Cindy Moore. She was a special aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was the niece of the late Senator Mary Fonseca, William Tavares and Manuel Tavares.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 2064 South Main St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 in St. John the Baptist Church, 945 Main Road Westport. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 6 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
