Deborah Aspden, of New Bedford, MA, passed away October 6th, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital, in New Bedford.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Laurence and Phyllis (Fenton) Aspden (both deceased) and the sister of Dennis Aspden (deceased).
Debbie lived at Havenwood House in downtown New Bedford for the last four years. Erika and Brenda at Havenwood embraced Deb as a part of their "family" there. Anyone who knew Debbie knows that she had a sense of humor and lived life according to her own rules. She loved playing cards, spending time with her family (especially Auntie Ada, Matante Yvette, Judy, Gary and Lori), and hanging out with friends (especially Terry and Ray). She was very happy to reconnect with cousin Brenda after a difficult time in her life and this brightened her days at Havenwood. All her life, she had a soft spot for animals, which she learned from her mother. She adopted and pampered many cats over the years and worked with her neighbors to feed local strays. At the grocery store, Deb always picked up a bag of peanuts in the shell to feed the local squirrels.
Debbie was pre-decreased by her parents, brother, niece and the majority of her aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors include only a few distant relatives.
Funeral services will be private.
