David Martin

David Martin, 67, of Fall River, died Saturday at the Providence VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Madeline (Farias) Martin.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Jesse and Mary (Pevide) Martin; he lived most of his life in Fall River. Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a life member of the Tiverton Rod & Gun Club.

He was employed for over 25 years as a shoe department manager by the former Bradlees Department Store in Fall River and Somerset. He also worked at Sarama Lighting for 11 years.

Besides his wife of just 46 years, he is survived by a daughter, Lynette Arruda (husband Randy) of Swansea; a son, Thomas F. Martin (wife Kimberly) of Westport.; a sister, Theresa Williams of NH; three brothers, Everette Martin, Vincent Martin and Jesse Martin, all of Fall River; four grandchildren, Nathan, Zachary, Dylan and Shyann; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Dominic Church, Swansea. Cremation to follow. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Please omit flowers.
