Cheryl Ann (Conforti) Barboza

Cheryl Ann (Conforti) Barboza, 61, of Westport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6th surrounded by her family.

She was the loving wife of Michael Barboza, together for 43 years.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Jacqueline (Ferreira) Conforti and the late Edward Conforti.

Cheryl found strength in the love Michael showed her through the years and never gave up hope despite all the obstacles she faced. She enjoyed baking for her family, never leaving the cookie jar empty, spending time outdoors in the sun watching hummingbirds, playing games on her iPad, and spending time with her grandson, Demetri.

Along with her husband and mother, she is survived by her children Nichole Barboza (partner Stephen Botelho), of Fall River, and Michael M. Barboza (partner Alexis McConnell), of Westport; her brothers Carl Conforti, of South Dartmouth, and Gary Conforti, of Fall River; her grandson Demetri Botelho; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr Souza, Dr Mucciardi and all of the staff at Charlton Memorial Hospital CCU for going above and beyond in taking care of Cheryl throughout the years and in her final moments.

Her funeral will be held at 8:15 AM Saturday, September 9, at the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, followed by a funeral service at 9:30 AM, at St. John of God Parish, Brayton Ave, Somerset. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday evening, from 5 - 8 PM
