Cecilia C. "Connie" DaCosta

Cecilia C. "Connie" (DaCosta) Sousa, 48, of Fall River, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Artur Sousa.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of Maria A. (Bulhoes) Gomes and her step-father Mario Gomes of Fall River; she resided in Fall River for the past 46 years. Mrs. Sousa worked in the retail industry for many years.

Besides her husband, mother and step-father, she is survived by two daughters, Ashley B. Da Costa and Jerica L. Ponte (Husband Phillip), both of Fall River; a son, Ryan L. Sequeira of Fall River (Companion Veronica P. Oliveira); two grandchildren, Aiyla M. Sequeira and Paityn L. Ponte. She also leaves many family and friends. She was the sister of the late Aires "Archie" DaCosta.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 4 - 7 p.m.
