Cecelia "Vo" Medeiros

Cecelia "Vo" (Ferreira) Medeiros, 87, of Fall River, died Thursday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of 64 ½ years to Fernandes "Freddy" Medeiros.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Augustine and Rose (Andrade) Ferreira; she was a lifelong resident of this city. Mrs. Medeiros was a homemaker and a communicant of Good Shepherd Parish. She loved NASCAR, playing nightly games of solitaire with her husband and devoting her time and energy raising not only the children in her family but others as well.

Besides her loving husband of 64 ½ years, she is survived by two daughters, Sandi Gustafson (Husband Steve) of Swansea, MA and Brenda Rousseau (Husband Edgar) of Fall River; three granddaughters, Tammi Hipolito (Husband Fred, III), Jennifer Gaw (Husband Bob) and Amanda Duarte (Husband Ceasar, Jr.); two great-granddaughters, Emilee Celia Hipolito and Hailey Rose Gaw; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Motta, Rose Rapoza, John and Joseph Ferreira.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4 - 8 p.m.
