Carmelia L. Thompson, 86, of Fall River, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at AdviniaCare Southpointe, in Fall River.
She was the widow of the late Harold Thompson.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Machado and Natalie (Da Luz) Machado.
Carmelia was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life, finding joy and purpose in caring for her family. A faithful parishioner of Good Shepherd Church, she also shared her love of faith by teaching CCD at the former Our Lady of the Angels Church. Her community spirit extended to her role as Bingo Manager at the Knights of Columbus, where she made lasting connections. In her personal time, Carmelia enjoyed solving puzzles, playing card games, and, above all, cherishing moments with her loved ones.
Carmelia is survived by her children Vivian M. Levesque (late husband Daniel), of Dartmouth, Peter P. Thompson (wife Debra) and Robert J. Thompson (wife Kimberly), both of Fall River; her grandchildren Shawn Levesque, Craig Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Chad Thompson, Jacob Levesque, Corey Thompson, and Caitlyn Bacon Thompson; her great grandchildren Cash Thompson, Savannah Levesque, Elleigh Thompson, and Maverick Levesque; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Paul J. Thompson and her brothers Mauricio Machado and Alcidio Machado.
Her visitation will be held Saturday, December 14, from 8 - 10 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by funeral prayers in the funeral home at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
