FALL RIVER - Bertha (Santos) Bolarinho, 84, of 2000 Bay St., Fall River, formerly of Essex St. and Mulberry St., died Monday, January 9th at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Antonio C. Bolarinho.
Born in Vila Franca, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Santos and Maria Encarnacao Santos Arraial; she emigrated to this country in 1979. Mrs. Bolarinho worked for over 20 years as an epoxy painter for a local jewelry manufacturer. She was a member of Santo Christo Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Delia Macaroco and her husband Joao of Fall River and Maria da Conceicao Bulhoes and her husband Fernando of Fall River; three sons, Carlos A. Bolarinho and his wife Helena of St. Michael, Azores, Americo L. Bolarinho and his wife Connie of New Bedford, MA and Antonio J. Bolarinho and his wife Brenda of North Kingston, RI; three sisters, Liduina Parisee and Irene Bolarinho, both of Providence, RI and Encarnacao Santos of St. Michael, Azores; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Joao Bolarinho.
Her funeral will be held Friday, January 13th at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street. Committal prayers and interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 6-9 p.m.
