Belmira Sousa

Belmira (Botelho) Sousa, 88, of Fall River, a retired trimmer, passed away on May 30th at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Francisco B. Sousa.

Born in Pedreira do Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Francisco Botelho Moniz and Francisca Mendonca; she was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. Sousa worked at the former Webb Sportswear.

She is survived by a daughter, Maria O. Cordeiro (husband Antonio) of Fall River; a brother, Manuel Moniz of Canada; three grandchildren, Kevin Cordeiro, Tony Cordeiro and Derek Cordeiro; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Cordeiro; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Diamantina Resendes and Maria Mendonca.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 7:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 6-8 p.m.
