Beatrice C. Ferreira

Beatrice C. (Mello) Ferreira, 91, of Tiverton, passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Saturday, December 7, 2024. 

    She was the loving wife of the late John J. Ferreira.

    Born in Middletown, RI, she was a daughter of the late Manuel C. Mello and Mary C. (Medeiros) Mello.

    Prior to retiring, Beatrice worked as a clerk at Levesque’s Bakery, in Tiverton, and also at the Pocasset Country Club and Lil Bear Restaurant. She was a parishioner of St. Madeline’s Church, where she was a member of the choir and a CCD teacher. Beatrice lived a quiet life, enjoying music and the time spent with her family.

    She is survived by her sons John J. Ferreira and Lawrence J. Ferreira, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children David Ferreira and Beatrice Barreto, one grandchild, and her siblings John Mello, Manuel Mello, Jesuino Mello, Agnes Monroe, and Mary Mello.

    A visitation will be held Thursday evening, December 12, from 5 - 8 PM at the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., Fall River.

    Her funeral will follow the next day, Friday December 13, at 8:45 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Madeleine’s Church, Tiverton. Interment will follow at Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
