Barbara S. (Furtado) Jean

Barbara S. (Furtado) Jean, 85, of Fall River passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Fall River Jewish Home.

She was the widow of the late James L. Jean.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John Furtado and Mary (Soares) Furtado.

Barbara was a homemaker and former president of the Liberal Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was a parishioner of the former Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her grandchildren Conan Jean and Meaghan Jean. She was the mother of the late Douglas J. Jean and sister of the late Ronald Furtado.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, December 28, at 9 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Parish, Stafford Rd., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Wednesday night from 5 - 7 PM.
