Arthur C. Rapoza

Arthur C. Rapoza, Sr., 94, of Tiverton, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

    He was the loving husband of the late Henrietta ”Honey” (Goncalo) Rapoza, to whom he was married to for 52 years.

    Born in Tiverton, he was a son of the late Joseph Rapoza and Annie (Ferreira) Rapoza.

    Arthur was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent much of his life pursuing his passion for automobiles. In 1959, he founded Art's Auto Repair in Tiverton, where he ran a successful business until his retirement in 1995. Outside of work, Arthur was an avid fan of auto racing, having first developed his love for the sport at the Ponta Delgada Speedway, and regularly attending races and keeping up with the latest in the sport. He enjoyed working on cars, often taking on projects in his spare time, and cherished spending time with his family. A devoted parishioner of St. Theresa Church, Arthur's community and faith were at the heart of everything he did.

    Survivors include his children Arthur C. Rapoza, Jr. and Robin Chasse; his stepdaughter Carol Gagne and her family; his grandchildren Tricia and Brittany; his great grandchildren Ariana and Isiah; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Frank Rapoza, Mary Redd, and Joseph Rapoza.

    A visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 from 5-8 PM at the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St, Fall River. Funeral prayers will take place during the visitation at 6 PM. Burial will be private.
