Antonio Rebelo, 86, of Middle St., Fall River, died Tuesday at Highlander Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. He was the husband of Noemia (da Rosa) Rebelo.
Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Francisco and Isabel (Cabral) Rebelo, he resided in Fall River for the past 41 years.
Mr. Rebelo had worked at the former Quaker Fabric as a maintenance man for 12 years. He previously worked at Slater Paper Box Company as a machine operator for 8 years.
In his earlier years, he was known as Antonio Padeiro and was owner and operator of a bakery in Portugal.
He was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church and a member of the Academic Club.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Isabel Rezendes of Fall River, 3 sons, Manuel A. Rebello and Duarte Miguel Rebello both of Fall River, MA and Joao da Rosa Rebello of Assonet, MA, 4 sisters, Mariana Albergaria of Fall River, MA, Ilda Rebelo and Lurdes Rocha both of Canada and Amelia Rebelo of Brazil, 2 brothers, Miguel Rebelo of Brazil and Manuel Rebelo of Canada, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 6 - 9 p.m.
