Antone J. "Chico" Souza

Antone J. "Chico" Souza, 72, of Bay Street, died Thursday at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of Pauline (Santos) Souza.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Soares) Souza.

Mr. Souza was a shop steward for Assonet Sand and Gravel for 18 years and member of the teamsters union, retiring in 1992. He was also a member of the Liberal Club.

He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by 2 daughters, Kimberly Bouley of Swansea and Deborah Jacobs of Somerset; 3 sons, Anthony Souza, Kevin Souza and Michael Souza all of Fall River; 2 brothers, James Souza of Somerset and Leonard Souza of Fall River; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wayne Souza.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5 - 8 p.m.
