Antone J. Moniz

TIVERTON… Antone Joseph Moniz, 82, of Tiverton, RI passed away Friday, February 26, 2021,  surrounded by family at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.

He was the loving husband of Beatrice C. (Botelho) Moniz, to whom he had been married to for 61 years.

Mr. Moniz was born in Fall River, the son of the late Antone T. and Lillian (Simmard) Moniz.

Antone worked as a Textile Chemist Supervisor for over 20 years at Duro Finishing and for various other companies, prior to retiring. He was a parishioner at St. Theresa’s Church in Tiverton, RI. He loved spending time on his boat, the Snoopy,  with his family and friends.

Along with his wife, survivors include his daughters: Susan White of Tiverton, RI, Elizabeth Ann Moniz of Dartmouth, and Jennifer Lynn Rego of Tiverton, RI, his sister: Dorothy Ruest of Somerset, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Constance Silbaugh and Joyce Saucier.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 9:00 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St, Fall River, MA 02724 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 265 Stafford Rd, Tiverton, RI. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
