Amelia Oliveira

Amelia (Mello) Oliveira, 99, formerly of Ferry St., Fall River, died Thursday. She was the wife of the late Manuel T. Oliveira.

Born in St. Michael, Azores; she was a daughter of the late Maria (Ricardo) Mello; she lived most of her life in Fall River.

Mrs. Oliveira worked as a seamstress for many years at the former Bedford Manufacturing. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, now U.N.I.T.E. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the library.

She is survived by two daughters, Noreen Gavin (Husband Robert) of Tiverton, RI and Judith Santos (Husband Joseph) of Fall River; a son, Robert Oliveira (Wife Jeannette) of Fall River; two grandsons, Joseph Santos and John Santos; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kathleen and Rebecca.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 6 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice Outreach Inc., 502 Bedford St., Fall River, MA 02720.
