Alvaro C. Viveiros

WESTPORT... Alvaro C. Viveiros, 80, of Westport passed away October 21, 2018 at St. Anne's Hospital.

He was the husband of Maria G. (Paiva) Viveiros to whom he had been married for 48 years.

Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Isabel (Carvalho) Viveiros.

Mr. Viveiros was a communicant of Santo Christo Church and worked as a Laborer for most of his career, most recently with Boston's Big Dig. Known to be a handyman, he enjoyed working around his home and in his garden. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Along with his wife, survivors include his daughter: Dulcina Glenn and her husband William-Hamilton of Providence; his son Luis Viveiros and his long time companion Rose Ferro of Dartmouth; his grandson: William-Wallace Glenn; his brothers: Jose Francisco Viveiros of Canada and Gil Viveiros of Fall River; along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the last Augustinho Viveiros.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 8 AM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Fall River.
