Alice Martin

Alice (Bishop) Martin, 80, of Borden St., Westport; formerly of George St., Westport, a homemaker, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16th at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Center. She was the wife of the late Manuel R. Martin.

Born in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Antone and Maria (daSilva-Costa) Bishop, she lived in Westport since 1972, having previously lived in Somerset for 13 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Evans (Husband Jeff) of Plymouth, MA; three sons, Steven L. Martin (Wife Marian) of West Warwick, RI, Kenneth Martin (Wife Kim) of Dartmouth, MA and Jeffrey Martin (Wife Eden) of Fall River; a sister, Laurine Silvia of Fall River; a brother, Daniel Bishop of Florida; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Leo Matthews, Antone Souza and Manuel Bispo.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. Interment of cremains in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or ASPCA, 424 92nd New York, NY 10128.
