Alice (Ferreira) Henrique, 92, formerly of Milford Rd., Swansea, MA, a retired bookkeeper and garment worker, died Thursday at Autumn Glen Assisted Living in No. Dartmouth. She was the wife of the late Frank E. Henrique, Jr.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Emelia (Correira) Ferreira; she was a resident of Swansea for over 50 years and a member of the former Our Lady of Fatima Church, now St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Swansea. She retired in 1987 from the former Rite Oil Co. where she worked as a bookkeeper. She previously worked as a sewing machine operator.
Mrs. Henrique was a former member of the Swansea Democratic Committee, Royal Travelers, American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 303, M.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary 814 and FOBOGNA of Swansea. She was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels through the Swansea Senior Center
She is survived by a nephew, Walter R. Silvia and his wife Diann of Canton, MA; a great-nephew and great-niece, Kim M. Martell and Timothy W. Silvia; and several other nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary F. Silvia, Emily Costa Silvia and Manuel Ferreira.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea. Committal prayers and interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours are omitted.
