Alice (Flores) Catabia, 97, of Bourne, MA, formerly of Norman St., Fall River, a retired garment worker, died Saturday at her granddaughter's residence. She was the wife of the late Albon Catabia.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Isabel (Botelho-Mello) Flores; she lived most of her life in Fall River before moving to Bourne 3 years ago. Mrs. Catabia worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry for many years. She enjoyed church activities, puzzles, watching game shows and traveling.
She is survived by a son, Kevin S. Catabia, Sr. and his wife Rosemary of No. Dartmouth, MA; three grandchildren, Traci-Lee Violette and her husband Jason, Derek J. Catabia and his wife Laurie and Kevin S. Catabia, Jr. and his wife Darlene; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Donna M. Viveiros and the sister of the late Manuel Raposa, Mary Tavares, Josephine Raposa, Inez Flores, Edward Flores, Helen Flores, Isabel Flores, John Raposa, Henry Raposa, Albert Raposa, Edmond Raposa, Gilda Raposa-Ferreira and George Raposa.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 7:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Dominic Church, Swansea. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5-7 p.m.
