Alfred Gallant, a loving father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at Somerset Ridge Center.
He was the widower of the late Maureen (Finn) Gallant.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Alfred Gallant and Eva (Bilodeau) Gallant.
Alfred had a distinguished career as a labor foreman for Local 610, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his dedication and leadership. He also spent some time working in maintenance in Florida.
Outside of work, Alfred had a passion for sports and entertainment, often enjoying the thrill of NASCAR races, the action of professional wrestling, and the fast-paced excitement of roller derby. He was an avid card player, always up for a friendly game with family and friends. Alfred also loved spending time on the water, owning several boats over the years, and enjoying leisurely outings that allowed him to appreciate nature while indulging in his love for boating
Alfred is survived by his children Rosemary Lapointe (husband David), Joy Medeiros (husband Charlie), Shane Gallant (wife Diane), Steven Gallant (wife Darlene), and Lisa Coelho (husband Manny); his siblings Rita Camara, Jeannie Marshalek, and Donald Gallant; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several siblings.
Alfred's family would also like to thank the staff of the Cedarville Unit, at Somerset Ridge Center, for the care and compassion they provided.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Christopher’s Church, Main Road, Tiverton. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.
