Alfred Carvalho

FALL RIVER…  Alfred Carvalho, 84, of Fall River, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at St. Anne's Hospital, in Fall River.

He was the widower of the late Marie (Ruest) Carvalho.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Amos Carvalho and Frances (Pontiff) Carvalho.

Alfred was a Vietnam Era Veteran of the United States Army and worked for many years as a truck driver for JJ Taylor Trucking, prior to retiring. He was an avid duck pin bowler and enjoyed trips to the casino and dog tracks.

He is survived by his sons Alfred Carvalho, Jr. (wife Ruth), of Fall River, and Michael Carvalho (wife Dorie), of Somerset; his brothers Manuel Carvalho and Arthur Carvalho, both of Fall River; his sister Emma Pavao, of Somerset; his grandchildren Brieanne, Devin, Taylor, Kyle, and Brandy-Lee; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Amos Carvalho and Elsie LaDero.

His visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 8-9:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home – South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Parish.  Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
