Alexandrina "Shandry" (Ferreira) Janick, 96, of Laurel St., Fall River, died Thursday at home. She was the wife of the late Matthew "Murphy" Janick.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Antone R. and Maria (Correia) Ferreira; she was a lifelong resident of this city and an honorary member of the Liberal Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Janick worked as a spinner for many years in the local textile industry.
She is survived by a daughter, Pauline M. Travis of Fall River; a son, Paul M. Janick of Fall River; three grandchildren, Scott Travis, Dean Travis and Sean Travis; six great-grandchildren, Jessica, Camryn, Connor, Payton, Kylie and Ryan; two great-great-grandchildren, Brayden and Callie; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Cabral, Alice Correira, Diamantina "Dot" Tate, Joseph Ferreira, Manuel Ferreira, James Ferreira and Antone "Mex" Ferreira.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours morning of service from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
