Alda (Oliveira) Rocha

Alda (Oliveira) Rocha, 84, of Swansea, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at St. Anne’s Hospital, in Fall River.

She was the widow of Jose DaRocha.

Born in Santo Antonio, Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Acores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Oliveira and Helena C. (Reis) Oliveira.

Prior to retiring, Alda worked for most of her career as a machine operator at River Falls Manufacturing and the former Darwood Manufacturing. She loved gardening, flowers, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Alda is survived by her son Joseph DaRocha (wife Christina), of Berkley;  her siblings: Henrique Oliveira (wife Silvana), of Dighton, Antonio Oliveira (wife Mary) and Filomena Chaves (late husband Jose), both of Tiverton; her grandchildren: Samantha DaRocha and Nicholas DaRocha (wife Victoria); several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Steven DaRocha and sister of the late Jose Oliveira, Maria Luisa Oliveira, Manuel Oliveira, and Maria Helena Aguiar.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, May 13, at 9AM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at Santo Christo Church. Interment will be at Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday night, from 5 - 7PM
