Albon Catabia, 93, of Norman St., Fall River, died Saturday at home. He was the husband of Alice (Flores) Catabia.
Born in Swansea, MA, he was a son of the late Manuel and Mary (Martin) Catabia; he lived most of his life in Fall River. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WW II.
Mr. Catabia worked for Montaup Electric Co. in maintenance for 32 years. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and traveling; especially to National Parks.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Kevin S. Catabia (Wife Rosemary (Costa) Catabia) of No. Dartmouth; a sister, Laura Courcier of Florida; three grandchildren, Traci, Derek and Kevin, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Donna Marie (Catabia) Viveiros and the brother of the late Joseph, Manuel, George, Louis, Alfred Catabia, Beatrice Butler, Wilhermina D'Ambrosio and Marie De Moura.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 6-8 p.m.
