Albano M. Medeiros, 60, of Fall River, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Alzira C. (Furtado) Medeiros.
Born in Furnas da ajuda, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Arruda) Duarte; he resided in Fall River for the past 43 years.
Mr. Medeiros was the owner of J. J.'s Coney Island Hot Dogs for over 20 years, and former owner of Harry's Red & White.
He was a member of Santo Church. He was also a member of the Sociedade Cultural Acoreana and former president of the St. Cecelia Philharmonic Band Club.
Besides his wife of 37 years, he is survived by two daughters, Michelle Camara (husband Peter) of Fall River and Jennifer Pacheco (husband Jeffrey), a son, Eric Medeiros of Fall River; two sisters, Adela Benifito of Assonet and Mary Lou Costa of Fall River; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eduardo Medeiros.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 5 - 9 p.m.
