Agostinho S. Reis, 87, of Fall River, a retired construction laborer, died on Tuesday at home. He was the husband of the Maria dos Anjos (Medeiros) Reis.
Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel and Alexandrina (Silva) Reis; he emigrated to this country in 1960 and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish.
Besides his wife, he leaves three daughter, Gilberta Reis (fiancée Donald Desmarais) of Fall River, Debora DaSilva (husband Kenneth) of Somerset, MA and Elizabeth Azevedo (husband Manuel) of Lakeville; two sons; Leonard Reis (wife Elaine)from Westport and Agostinho M. Reis of Fall River;and 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Delia Carvalho, Rosalina Soares, Isaura Mota, Daniel Reis, Edmundo Reis, Manuel Reis,Agostinho M. Reis of Fall River Evelyn Bettencourt and Maria Andrade.
His Funeral will be held Saturday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4 - 8 p.m.
