Agnes Correia

Agnes (Furtado) Correia, 95, of Fall River, passed away on August 7th, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Louis Correia. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Antone P. Furtado and Mary Jo (Souza) Furtado.

    Prior to retiring, Agnes was employed for 35 years as a presser for Kravif Mfg. Following retirement, Agnes worked as a Senior Aide at the Fall River Government Center and later at the Alcoholism Council of Greater Fall River. She also worked as a Poll Worker for the City of Fall River. Agnes was a member of Espirito Santo Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was known as "Nez" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

    She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth A. Camara and her son, Louis Correia (wife Kathy) of Fall River, and 2 sisters, Evelyn Hubert (late husband Eugene) of Fall River and Rita Jean (late husband Roger) of Tampa, Florida. Agnes is predeceased by her brothers, Manuel P. Furtado (late wife Alice), Antone P. Furtado Jr. (late wife Rita), and Edward P. Furtado (wife Althea). She was the grandmother of nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

    The family would like to thank Dr. Vladimir Yufit and Dr. Patrick Curran for the care Agnes received. Additionally, the family thanks the staff at the Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association, including Palliative Care and Hospice for their care, support, and comfort. 

    Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12th, from 8:00 - 9:30 am at the Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at Espirito Santo Church, Fall River. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
