Adolph M. "Duke" Botelho, 78, of Kimwell Nursing Home, 495 New Boston Rd., formerly of Tiverton, died Saturday. He was the husband of the late Elsie (Viveiros) Botelho.
Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late Adolph M. Botelho Sr. and Frances (Pontiff) Botelho, he lived most of his life in Tiverton and Fall River. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He served in many countries during his tour of duty and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, 2 o/s Bars. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Woodrow L. Silvia Post in Tiverton. He was a member and past president of the North Tiverton Sportsmens Club, a former member of the Ponta Delgada Club and Bayview Club. In his youth, he played soccer for the Liberal Club.
Mr. Botelho worked as a manager at the Globe Car Wash, Broadway. He previously worked for the former Priority Finishing. The family would like recognize and extend their appreciation to the Kimwell Nursing Home Staff for the excellent care given to Adolph.
He is survived by two sisters, Leonora Lopes of Berkley, MA and Elsie Dias of Fall River; two brothers, Antone Botelho of Somerset and Thomas Botelho of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St. Calling hours Tuesday 6-8 p.m. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
