Adelaide Bernardo

Adelaide (Benjamin) Bernardo, 87, of Fall River passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
She was the widow of John Novo and Manuel Bernardo.
She was born in Santa Barbara, Sao Antonio, St. Michael's, Azores a daughter of the late Serafin and Maria (Guiteria) Benjamin and had lived in Fall River since 1960.
She was employed as a Trimmer for 22 years with Woodland MFG., retiring in 1993, prior to that she worked at the former Darwood MFG for 10 years.
She was a communicant of Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River.
Mrs. Bernardo is survived by 3 daughters: Rosa B. Araujo, Teresa Pacheco, Fatima Ferreira all of Fall River, 4 sons: Joseph Novo, Messias Novo both of Fall River, Michael Novo of FL, Emanuel Bernardo of New Bedford, 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria Oliveira, Maria Farias, and Joao Benjamin.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 8AM from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME 215 Columbia Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street, Fall River. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5 - 9 PM. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
